Tax info for i-864

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone can help with my question on tax info for the i-184 form. It basically requests copies of tax returns from the last 3 years or transcripts from the IRS.

Well my (US) husband is deployed for 6 months (out at sea) and I am in Australia. So I don't have access to these copies. I went to the IRS website and a note states:

"Form W-2, Form 1099 series, Form 1098 series, or Form 5498 series transcript.

The IRS can provide a transcript that includes data from these information returns. State or local information is not included with the Form W-2 information. The IRS may be able to provide this transcript information for up to 10 years. Information for the current year is generally not available until the year after it is filed with the IRS. For example, W-2 information for 2003, filed in 2004, will not be available from the IRS until 2005. If you need W-2 information for retirement purposes, you should contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213. Most requests will be processed within 45 days".

Does this mean we would have to wait until 2008 to get the W2 and 1099 tarnscripts for my husbands 2006 tax return?

Has anyone come across this kind of issue?
