i-130 processing times for US citizen sponsoring mother (Indian)

Hi , 

I filed my i-130 in May last year. 

Receipt Date : 14th May 2023

Online status says : 12 months until case decision .

 

Is this normal ? My acquaintances who filed for their parents a couple of years got the GC for their parents in less than a year

Never heard of less than a year, but it also shouldn’t take another year. Ignore your online guesstimate, it’s notoriously accurate. Seems to be around 13-14 months at the moment so hopefully approval any day now. Don’t forget to check the documents tab, approval is usually there quite a while before you get notified.
