Does anyone have any experience with getting married in the US and later registering the marriage in Romania?

My husband and I got married in Tennessee almost 5 years ago, but I never filed any paperwork in Romania to change my status to married or register the marriage. I heard I need an apostille on our marriage certificate, but I am unsure how to get it or how long it takes.

I'd go to your local Romanian consulate in the US and check the steps there.

Here's one link that details needed documents: https://romaniancitizenship.ro/registration-foreign-marriage-certificate-romania/

Why would you?

Unless you and your husband wants to move to Europe/Romania I don't see any benefit of going through all the hoops and going to a consulate out of your way (unless is there one in your city) to just register the marriage.

I am not at the stage of having kids so unsure if that is something needed to get them dual citizenship
