Hi everyone,

I need to get a police certificate in China as i have worked there for almost 4 years since my previous company sent me to china, so i stayed there for almost 4 years. Do you know any legitimate law firm or companies that is already proven and tested which can help me get a notarized police certificate for my visa application?

All inputs will be appreciated :)

My only experience is with using somebody who has direct access to a family book.  Maybe a former co-worker could recommend an attorney.  What you want is a police certificate, translated by the Notarial Office.

To anyone who is able to visit this thread i created. I just want to share on how i obtained my police certificate in China. I was able to stumble into a company "Zhao Zhao Consultancy"  - https://www.zhaozhao.co/. They are legit and a no-nonsense straight to the point company. They are straight to the point and went ahead into what i need, what i need to submit and the timeline when will I be getting my police certificate. I am now living in the US and thanks to them that i decided to reply here to help those people who are also in my position looking for a legit company to help you with your police certificate.

Just want to share my story (quite long):

I initially asked helped from "Chodorow law firm" as i stumble upon one video she was able to be helped by this company. I think they are legit but they are doing some unnecessary payments which you need to pay 150USD for their "research fee" which took them more than 3 weeks which they said it would only take 7 business days to accomplish. I then tried to research further and saw that people complaining about this scenario and also it is taking them a long time to provide and assist the person needing the certificate. I paid and gotten their support initially and provided 150USD for the research fee. I was in the midst of going there myself but know that it would be much difficult as i needed more money to spend for my airfare and hotel accommodations.

I decided to search for other companies and there were other legit companies but their fees where quite high as they are not mainly in getting police certificate and alike. I then saw - not sure if it was on one of the threads here as well that Zhao Zhao consultancy was recommended. While waiting for an update from Chodorow law firm, I tried to message and inquired on the timeline, procedures, needed documents, etc. I was able to speak to Pete and he gave me a direct answer and was able to provide me everything. I was hesitant at first as it was fairly straight to the point and would take them only 2 weeks including the delivery of the certificate and my passport back to me, unlike the first law firm i asked for assistance which informed me once i agreed to the contract, it would take me 2 months to get the police certificate.

I then took a leap of faith and got their service. I sent my passport and the other needed documents, as i stayed in China where they need the original passport and documents in order to process the police certificate. I agreed and paid the first half of the payment (I believe it was more or less 230USD), since total was less then 500USD. I was then assisted by Apple throughout the whole process - answering my inquiries and anything related to the certificate i need.

I used Fedex to deliver my passport and the needed documents. They got it after 2 days and during the same day, they had informed me that they had submitted it to the police to get the certificate. It took just 3 business days to get my police certificate. They updated me that they have the certificate and even provided me a soft copy as proof. On the same day, they sent it to a different government body to have it translated to english. After 4 business days, they got the translated police certificate and sent me a soft copy. I. then paid the remaining fee and they shipped it once paid.

I received my passport and 2 copies of the police certificate which they informed me in case i needed another copy, i have one handy - which was thoughtful of them. I had to reply to this thread which might help others with the same scenario which i have and also my little way of saying thanks to their help i am now here in the US!
