I filed my case in December 2023 and they started reviewing it on January 5, now it says case is taking longer then expected 😕 why is that ? And how much longer do I have to wait ? Thanks  🙏🏻

January 5th would have been when documents were scanned into the computer / reviewing doesn't start that soon

The review and approval itself takes maybe 30 minutes tops. However the backlog is too great. The average processing time for I-130 is 12-14 months.

Omg 12-14 months and still needs the nvc approval as well right, so what’s the whole timeline process ? 🙏🏻

Yes, NVC process too. I think that’s usually 3-4 months if your documents are all accepted on the first try. The rest of the timeline is all dependent on the consulate as some are more busy/slow than others.

18 months to 3 years as some consulates like Islamabad consulate have a huge backlog.

December 2023 filer here as well. Expect to wait until January/February of 2025 to get an answer.
