Hi everyone. I was finishing up my N-400 application and there was a section called "evidence of your marriage" where I uploaded practically everything we have to prove we're married (tax transcripts, health insurance, car insurance, bills....I also included photos of us on our vacations)... basically I uploaded everything I had there..

But now I saw that at the very end, there's another section that says "additional evidence you want to provide" with an option to upload... However, I already uploaded everything I had to the "evidence of your marriage" section. Do I just leave the "additional evidence" part empty or am I supposed to make any changes/add anything in particular here?

Thanks a lot.

If you already uploaded all the additional information you should be fine leaving that section blank.

Good Luck!

Filing online is new to me. For the "evidence of marriage" (bank statements, leases etc) does one need to add the name and A-number to the top of all of these or is that not necessary when filing online?

I don't think that is necessary.

No need to modify evidence.  Just upload it.

To confirm: are you filing under 3 year rule based on marriage to US citizen?

Yes, filing under the 3 year rule based on marriage to a US Citizen.

Having gone through the online process fairly recently - if you have no additional evidence, none is needed.

I can see why you're concerned about it! The online system even warns you if you don't include any, so it feels awkward or wrong to leave it blank, but honestly, if you don't have any, you don't need any.

I also didn't include A-number on any documents submitted as evidence.

Conclusion: I'm a citizen now 😉
