Why is it anytime someone states they are voting for hillary or any dem for that fact that person or ppl are completely belittled bc of it? why is it if we dont see the REP way we are smaller? And when you dont allow someone to state who they like and WHY but continue to convince them why they shouldnt, isnt that taking away personal thought and opinion?

Not any Dem, dear, just Hillary. No-one would fault you for wanting to vote for John Edwards.

If someone would get out of the dark ages & realize a woman/black man CAN be president, the world will be a better place.

More importantly who is the right candidate. I prefer Obama over Hillary because he has not been in the political game long enough to be bribed or have allegiances to acquaintances with deep pockets yet.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yes, but that also hurts him as he has no int'l experience...something the US very much needs now to heal relationships.

Let me try to smooth things over a little and explain. Mawilson is absolutely correct. It's not just any Dem, it's Hillary in particular. If Dev came on saying Go Edwards or go Oboma I wouldn't have said much. If the dems put out a Oboma/Edwards ticket I will bet you we will have our first black pres and our first woman vice pres. :P But you must understand that Hillary is hated more by the right than Bush is hated by the left. I can't think of a better "get out the vote" campaign than a Hillary for pres ticket. I would rather see ANYONE for prez than Hillary. If she is the Dem candidate be prepared for any civility to go out the window. You will see more mud directed against Clinton than ever before in history. You will also see a record rep turn out in November. The right will not allow her to run and ruin this country. If you have a thin skin when it comes to political fighting then you should turn off your computer and come back after the election. I am not saying it's right but I am saying it will happen.

Where *DO* these 'facts' come from?

Really, Gary, I'm asking honestly. Cuz I can name plenty of places/sites/people who hate Bush, A LOT.

You will just have to trust me on this. I promise you it is true. I am not trying to jab at you. Just wait and see.

Gary - I welcome you to come visit Los Angeles. You can mud wrestle Steve over global warming and wil l see you can't swing a cat without hitting a car with an anti-Bush bumper sticker.

I know there's a lot on the right that hate Hillary passionately. But I don't see any real passion on the right for any of the Republican candidates who actually has a chance to win it. Let's face it, there isn't a fat lot of difference between some of the Republican frontrunners and Hillary on key conservative issues (abortion, amnesty). Which is why I think she will win.

You throw out your opinions & I'm supposed to believe it as fact? Gary, come on. Get real.

I think Gary you hit the nail on the head here. I can promise you if Hillary is on the DEM Ticket, I sure will not vote for her. I trust as much as I can toss a train. I think Oboma would be a good president, I honestly dont care who gets the Dem Ticket, but I don't want to see Hillary.

I am a Democrat and I have voted before for a Rep. President but did not win. but I did.

I vote for who I think will be the best person for the job.

not what Party they belong too

Well said, sister! Gary, I think it's unfortunate that like her husband, so many people on the Right are all too eager to pounce on any perceived or real personality flaws. It's funny because Giuliani said the other day in an interview (which is one reason I like him), that people know his flaws. The fact is...there isn't a single Republican or Democrat that is free of any personality flaws of some sort or another. I see this as something carried over from when Bill Clinton was in office...this idea that character mattered and 'look what happens when we vote just anyone in office.' Bill had his flaws but by golly don't get me started on Dubbya's. Character does matter but lets not kid ourselves into thinking any one candidate has the character edge over another in this race. Get over the fact that Hillary's personality rubs you the wrong way.

Sorry Dev, it is true. I know you like her but the hatred from the right (and a good number of those on the left) is very real. I want to bury the hatchet with you, it's nothing personal.

Hatred of Bill was incredibly strong but it wasn't enough for Bob Dole to win. I think of you rely on that level of hatred to fuel a Republican victory next year you might be disappointed.

i never thought she could win either until very recently. I don't think it's as strong a chance without Obama as her running mate, as he cancels out a lot of her weaknesses and there is a real groundswell of support for him.
