There is nothing wrong with owning guns, but I'll be the first to admit that some folks have absolutely no business owning guns. I don't have a concealed carry permit, but I would get one if I felt I needed one. Even living in the big, bad city of Houston I haven't felt incline to go packing yet. I have thought about it from time to time.

Amen, brother. Although determining who is qualified to properly handle and use a gun would be difficult. Back ground checks and 'no' to anyone with a felony conviction or who has mental problems.

when i'm on my meds, i'm okay. j/k

One of my personalities owns several guns and has a short temper. :P

personal opinion: i'd go w/ a larger caliber. aren't those .22 & .32. there are many larger caliber sub compacts you may want to look at. if money isn't an issue. i prefer hk, sig, & glock. you get what you pay for.

i prefer .40 cal for inside, that may be too penetration for some homeowners. check out a daewoo 40....neat little pistol

 nice

I enjoy my sig and glock

I'd love to hear your opinion on the Virginia Tech massacre - why you think it happened.

Do you think the gun was to blame? Why is it Australia and many other nations have 1/5 the homicide rate? Irrespective of what Michael Moore tells people; Guns are still available there. Not as easy to get, but available.

A start would be to have a look at what is acceptable and what is not in society. Look at the commonality between Columbine and VT. And it wasn't guns.. Numerous rappers, for example, are barred from traveling to AUS and the UK. Why do you think that is..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I don't own a gun nor do I feel the need to have one. I don't hunt and the area I live in is rather peaceful. I have no problem with someone owning a gun, but I do question those who want to have automatic weapons in their home.

Now automatic weapons are a different story. You might as well allow them to own explosives, grenades etc if your going to let people carry those..

I can understand that. Special licence is a good idea. Would you as a collector, if you are one, be willing to remove the firing mechanisms so that the gun can no longer be used?

why would a collector do that? collectors aren't the ones we need to worry about.

There's a huge difference between automatic and fully automatic. I think people get this confused.

fully automatic = machine gun = one trigger pull = many bullets

automatic (or semi-automatic)= one trigger pull = one bullet

people get confused by the appearance alone

example.... the MAK-90 is a semi-auto version of the fully auto AK-47. It only looks similar.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

The few collectors I know who can afford to own something like a Thompson M1921 would not. It decreases the value of the gun.

Currently I only have a Colt Woodsman for target practice. But I got into trap shooting a few years ago and wouldn't mind getting a shotgun in the near future instead of using the crappy ones they rent out at the shooting center.

just as easily as such can be removed, such can be reinstalled (even purchased from other sources). so pretty much pointless imo.
