Nice choice.

I don't have a problem with people owning guns, but the opposition against any type of regulation is absurd.

It is when the likes of Virginia Tech take place - again-and-again-and-again-and-again-and-again.

The Second Amendment tells us that 'a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.' Two hundred years later, in 1999, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives estimated that there are about 215 million guns in America--at least one firearm in half the households in the country.

The anti-gun Brady Campaign, however, puts that number at 192 million guns, owned by 39 percent of the population. Either way, that's a lot of firepower. Photographer Kyle Cassidy wanted to find out who these people were, what they looked like and how they lived. So he traveled 15,000 miles over the course of two years taking pictures of people with their weapons and asking them one question:

'Why do you own a gun?' His new book, 'Armed America,' is the culmination of that project. Keep clicking for Cassidy's portraits of Americans at home with their six-shooters and 12 gauges.

I wonder if anyone said "I own a gun so that one day I can revenge myself on the man who murdered my father" ;)

I used to own a few back in Canada, but sold them prior to moving to the USA. I kept them for target practice. Being a military fellow I enjoyed target shooting. Now a days it seems many have guns for protection, but wonder how many would really pull the trigger? Talk is cheap, until one is in that situation, on never truly knows!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Good choice Lucky Strike I've had a benelli M3 for years you'll love how smooth it functions. Ever see one of the videos by their professional shooters?

By the way a well regulated militia is about keeping the government from infringing on the right of the citizens. Has nothing to do with hunting or fighting the British. As hunting was considered something very normal that nearly all men participated in. While fighting the british was well over by the time the constitution was written. Well except for that little spat in 1812.

Oh and by the way they also ment for the citizenry to have the same small arms as the military.

Why do I own a gun?

I've been around guns since I was a little kid. My dad and uncles took me hunting often in the 1960's and 1970's, but I haven't gone in recent years because it is getting more and more expensive and in recent years I just haven't pursued it. The USA (and southeast Texas in particular) is getting more and more urbanized than when I was a kid. I still own my guns, but limit my shooting to forays to the county shooting range when the Southern weather is cool. However, I'll go on a freebee hunt if somebody invites me. The last deer I shot was on private property at the end of the season several years ago in the 1990's. A freebee deal through a friend of a friend.

I own several shotguns and rifles, but sold my pistols several years ago because I rarely shot them. I've always been more of a fisherman than a hunter. Fishing is cheaper since most waters are easily accessed by the general public. I've loved the wilderness and nature since I was a kid.

There is nothing wrong with owning guns, but I'll be the first to admit that some folks have absolutely no business owning guns. I don't have a concealed carry permit, but I would get one if I felt I needed one. Even living in the big, bad city of Houston I haven't felt incline to go packing yet. I have thought about it from time to time.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Amen, brother. Although determining who is qualified to properly handle and use a gun would be difficult. Back ground checks and 'no' to anyone with a felony conviction or who has mental problems.

I enjoy my sig and glock

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

you can hide a .22 in between 2 slices of bread.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

personal opinion: i'd go w/ a larger caliber. aren't those .22 & .32. there are many larger caliber sub compacts you may want to look at. if money isn't an issue. i prefer hk, sig, & glock. you get what you pay for.

i prefer .40 cal for inside, that may be too penetration for some homeowners. check out a daewoo 40....neat little pistol
