I doubt it. He’s got another four and a half years before he has to call an election, and Labour has no-one with any name recognition left to supplant him. The last thing the Labour Party wants is to look like the Conservatives and change the head honcho.

It is going to be interesting, the Cons were in such a state I would think it will take them a long time to get their act together and have no leadership of consequence.

British Army would be destroyed in six months if it had to fight Russia, says veterans minister

 

The British Army would be destroyed in "six months to a year" if it had to fight Russia, the veterans minister has warned.

Colonel Alistair Carns, a former marine and current reservist, said it would not be possible for the UK to sustain losses like those suffered by the Kremlin's forces – estimated at 1,500 troops per day in Ukraine – in the event of a war.

Speaking at a conference on reserves, he said: "In a war of scale, not a limited intervention but one similar to Ukraine, our Army, for example on the current casualty rates, would be expended, as part of a broader multi-national coalition, in six months to a year."

 

The British Army currently has 72,510 full-time troops – its smallest size since the Napoleonic era.  [...]

There may be some of that, but the majority remain the same professional fighting force the UK has always maintained. 
 

I remember tha last time international opinion of the UK military was so low. Going into 1982, the Soviet intelligence opinion of the UK armed forces was best described as dismissive. Six months and a small war in the South Atlantic later and Soviet intelligence had reassessed the situation and rated the UK military as the most capable in NATO.

 

Then there are the UK special forces, still rated universally as the best there is. Mainly because they are all completely barking mad. ☠️
