L1-B in Administrative Processing - Toronto Consulate

Hi all,

i'm a Pakistani born Canadian resident. I've submitted my L1B application a couple of months ago and got asked lots of questions about my master's specific courses. I suppose it's because of the TAL. After that, i got put onto AP and now even my ESTA is getting denied due to this stupid AP.

I'm in the process of getting my Canadian passport now and was wondering if 1) land border crossings will be allowed due to my AP 2) do i need to resubmit the application/update the consulate about this change?

Seems like AP is taking anywhere between 2-5 years. So good luck to me haha

How are you eligible for an ESTA if you’re not yet a Canadian citizen?

Border crossing will be allowed with AP as long you have Canadian passport or visa. If you have visa CBP office may ask you to go the secondary for fingerprinting. I will recommend to avoid  border crossing with visa  until you get your Canadian passport if possible. You need to carry the proof of ties to Canada. AP is taking few months to 16 months from Montreal consulate for immigrant visa. AP is faster for non-immigrant visas and with Resume only(TAL).
