Which one: POE to Dallas or Houston?

Hello, 

 

My husband and I are planning our POE.  I live near Austin, Texas.  I am wondering which POE would be more easier to deal with, the Dallas International or Houston International? 

 

Both are equal in distance.   I have read the reviews.  It looks like Houston is easier than Dallas?  

 

If and when my husband arrives to either airport, where do I go to pick him up?

My wife and I have entered the US at both POEs.  She entered, via a CR-1, at DFW.  I don't think either will be difficult.  Good luck.

he will have a layover in Europe so do they have a direct flight to Dallas or Houston?

If so , pick him up at international terminal at baggage claim (arrivals)

 

If he has to stop at POE inside US prior to Dallas or Houston,  Pick him at at domestic terminal at baggage claim (arrivals)

 

BTW if he is going thru Canada (like Toronto ,  etc) they have US customs clearance

 

Be careful how u purchase the ticket

make sure it is on one ticket purchase to US and not 1 to Paris ,  get new ticket there and continnue -so to speak -  as that requires a French visa 

this has been an issue in the past for Moroccans

if just a layover for many places (Paris and Canada) the US visa allows transit without a transit visa

My fiancée arrived at Dallas POE in April.  Her arrival was very simple.  CBP took her passport and packet.  She waited 10 minutes and they returned her stamped passport.  No questions at all.  The international arrivals at DFW is now entirely behind closed doors.  Even baggage claim is behind the closed doors.  There is only one international arrivals set of doors.  Everyone comes through the same place.  It is very easy to find and only a few hundred feet from the parking garage.  The disadvantage is you cannot help them gather their bags.  Mine came through with 3 bags and 2 large dogs in kennels, so I was a bit concerned about not being able to help her.  Airport staff helped, taking everything all the way to the parking garage, but of course with a tip.

You described DFW international flights very well.  It is very convenient, imo.  I always park right across the street in that parking garage.

Of course I am for DFW too, it's very easy It's terminal D btw!

I want to thank everyone for all your responses.  Your experience and input is valuable with my planning. 

 

He is now in NVC stages.  DQ on June 6th, now waiting for the interview date to be set up.... 

 

I hope to get him home by November 2024....

that being only 5 months from the June DQ ,   do not make any plans till that visa is in hand if u are approved by CO

Of course, that has been factored in.  Since I work as a teacher and full time.  I like to get the gist and plan ahead as well.

Another thing.  I live in the east DFW area in Dallas county, and I have flown in & out of both DFW and IAH many times.  I absolutely hate the traffic in Houston. I am not joking when I say that even my GPS has been confused driving there. LOL
