Apologies if this info has been posted already, but how soon after interview is the oath ceremony, typically? If anybody has data for SLC specifically that would be extremely helpful!

There were some SLC timelines on Reddit from couple of months ago showing about a 1 month wait for an oath ceremony.  I haven't noticed any reports of same day oath at that particular office.

Filed July 3rd - date on receipt notice.

Biometrics done on Aug 11.

Now I am not sure whether they schedule the interview based on the filing date (priority date) or when the case gets ready for scheduling (after the biometrics and related background checks).

Field office: San Jose, CA --- Is there anyone from here from July/August who has their interview scheduled?

I belive first they have to finish background checks and application and documents verification . For vast majority its done in 2 to 4 weeks: then your for adjudicator revivew in line fifo ( hopefully ) so priority date night not be filing date rather the date initial checks are done

( i am guessing thats the first update date u will have on file other than bio)

What? I don’t intend to be mean but could you check the spelling in your post. Really hard to understand

FO lawrence, ma, 5-year rule

I've had my GC for 6 years now. I didn't realized I could have filled under the 5 year rule so I did the 3yr rule married to usc. Anyho I don't think it really matters in the grand scheme of things.

If there is update date and reduction in processinh time. Happen same time it could very well mean hou crossed some processing step. Did ir processing time reduce on 7 31 ?

Best I can tell there is absolutely no link to the process; I have my interview coming up and the "months to completion" haven't changed other than by counting down by one every 30 days (showing 6 months right now).

No news. I will post when I have any updates.

What's the rush guys ? I honestly didn't even want to apply for US passport...my plan was to live on a GC my whole life (I know people that do it this way).

Because there is one massive downside of a US passport - if you land a highly paying job overseas you will be obliged to pay income tax to the US as its citizen, so you will be double taxed.

And in the industry I work in this is very possible, I constantly have job offers overseas. So I don't really get the rush of getting a US passport.

The only reason I applied for a US passport is because I am Ukrainian and male, I am unable to renew my Ukrainian passport which is expiring. Unfortunately I was left with not much choice.

You have the same tax obligations on GC as US citizen. Plus, if you're on GC for 7+ years, you also have to pay the same "exit tax" (sorry don't remember correct term) as US citizen resouncing citizenship if you decide to give up GC.

Plus, if you think, there's not many places that would pay more than they pay in the US, maybe with few exceptions and due to niche job etc.

Double taxation is a tabu. You can take advance of the foreign earned tax credit and also deduct taxes payed in a foreign country

Green Card holders have exactly the same tax liabilities as citizens.

You might not be in a rush, but others like myself would like to get this process over with quickly, so we can move on to other things. For me it is beneficial to become a citizen for easier travel purposes especially to countries that requires visa from some countries but not the USA. So while you may not need to rush, others have varying reasons why they are eager to get it done!
