K1 Visa Interview Query - London Embassy. What time should I get there before my appointment?

Hi all,

I have my visa interview booked in August in the morning (08:30) but I am just wondering how much earlier people arrived at the embassy for their interview? I'm stopping overnight at my cousins the night before in London so just intrigued to see when people got there before their appointment so I can work out when to go from my cousins to the embassy.

Hope you can help!

I had a morning appointment and I got there 30 mins before. You’ll probably find there will be a queue for the outside desk but just bypass the queue and tell them you have an immigration appointment and they will ask what time and want to see your interview letter or DS-260 etc. they will then fast track you through. once inside as before just bypass the queues and speak with the desk again. Be prepared to be glared at by people waiting as they don't understand that you have a timed appointment and may seem a little grouchy.
30 mins before will leave you plenty of time.

Hi there,

Thank you for the response. It seems that 30 minutes to an hour before is what most people seem to be doing. I have seen from a reviews and posts on this site about there being queues but also about going to the desks. Are the people in the queues got visa appointments or is it just that their visa category doesn't offer timed appointments?

I believe they don’t have timed appointments.

Just an update on this - I arrived around an hour and a half before my interview haha but I just waited around for about 30 minutes before joining the queue which I have left a review regarding the embassy on the embassy page on this sites as well.
