the embassy in montreal has a coffee shop nearby that holds stuff like that for you..

if you take it in, they might confiscate / yell at you =)

can you leave it in the car or somewhere else?

PS, GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck for tomorrow......I.m sure you'll do just grand!!

Not sure about your mobile....ask one of the other Uk'ers that recently went for their interview regarding taking mobile phones.....whether they'll give you a ticket so you can collect it on your way out, am sure one of them will let you know. :) Been almost a year since i was there and i think they changed their policy lately.

As I understand they will take the phone from you before you go into the Embassy (judging from other people's experiences). I plan to take my mobile (sorry darling, if you're reading this...CELL PHONE) on Friday.

Anyhow, wishing you the very best of luck!!

Best of luck tomorrow, I am sure you will be just fine. Bring back another big APPROVED

I had my interview on Tuesday. You can take your phone as far as the entrance. They will store anything of an electronic nature in the security hut and give you a numbered tag to reclaim it after your interview. On Tuesday, USC's weren't allowed inside the Embassy.

Usually, it doesn't take too long. But on Tuesday I was in there for five hours. Poor hubby was left stranded outside with no idea how long he was going to have to wait.

Important thing is don't worry. Just sit patiently and wait for your number to come up. I was far too nervous to read anything so I just avidly watched the Argos style screens for the entire five hours....:lol:

Good luck and let us know how you get on...

Thank you for letting me know. Just asked on a different thread, but what type of bag are you allowed to take? I don't want to take a carrier. I was going to take a pull along hand luggage bag, so I don't have all that weight to carry, but I'm guessing that's not allowed.

Again, you can pretty much take any type of bag that will fit through those airport type xray belts. I had my handbag and two laptop-ish sized bags, both really heavy, because we thought me and hubby would be let in. He was carrying the heaviest...

When they said no USC's allowed, I had to take all three myself and they had no problem. I saw everything really, except suitcases...!

A lot of people had rucksacks, carrier bags, briefcases, small duffel bags etc.

Good luck.
