did you receive packet 3 from the embassy?

packet 3 tells you everything you need.

including having to email the embassy (in a specific way) a copy of the DS-160 confirmation.

only when they get that email will they send you instructions on how to schedule the interview

Why do you need the timeline?!? I filled a K1 visa application. Got approved. Got the case number from the NVC. The case went from in transit to ready the Frankfurt Germany Embassy. I then filled out the DS 160 form immediately. I took the application number and created an account on the Apply for a US visa in Germany website. I paid the $265 visa fee and was told we would get an email stating when we can schedule the interview.

wanting exact dates is not relevant here.

I don’t know what a packet 3 is. Can you explain? I’ve done so many internet searches and haven’t came across packet 3.

Well, first of all you'd do a lot of other forum visitors a big favor as the estimations here are all based on the data filled in on the timelines of users. That's why the timeline is helpful.

But second of all, it'd be clear that you went through the appropriate steps. There's a bunch of people who think they need to start their application at the embassy instead of the US citizen petitioning for them and going through all the steps you've just laid out.

Considering you've provided that information: You seem to have not sent a copy of the DS160 to the embassy via e-mail (or you forgot to tell us). They might be waiting for that. If you have sent it, then you might still have to wait for them to give a response (that's where the timing of your steps matter...so exact dates do matter to a degree).

packet 3 comes from the embassy.

it is a letter that includes information on the next steps of your visa process, sometimes an additional form to fill out (Frankfurt sends an additional form), and in our case a copy of our approved I-129f.

packet 3 gets sent to the foreign fiance a few weeks after the case arrives at the embassy.

if your case has been at the embassy for over a month (has a "ready" status on the CEAC tracking) then i would suggest contacting the embassy about getting your packet 3 emailed to the foreign fiance.

I would use Frankfurts visa navigator so you can correctly email the right people at the embassy https://tinyurl.com/FrankfurtVisas/

but you wont be able to continue forward without emailing your DS-160 confirmation to the embassy.

you should wait until the foreign fiance receives packet 3.

your submitted DS-160 is good for 1 year, so its not a big deal that is has already been submitted and paid for.

this happened to me as well. I emailed the DS-160 and the visa fee 1 week ago but I haven't received any email to schedule the interview. Does anyone know how long does it take time? I received the welcome letter on 4th June.

thank you.

I wouldn't be surprised if it would take a little longer. Frankfurt has taken over immigrant visa processing from five other embassies.
