Booking vacation and travelling on extension letter

I will be filing my i751 packet on July 5th as my conditional green card is expiring on September 28th, 2024. Planning on going to Mexico for a week long vacation with my wife in early October. Will I receive the extension letter prior to that and is it safe to book the vacation now? I will be entering Mexico with my foreign passport and have no visa requirements.

I would expect the extension letter to arrive within 2-4 weeks after filing, so I see no issues with your plan. Filing with plenty of time before the trip would also ensure that you either get a biometrics appointment or notice of biometrics reuse while you are still in the country.
