Hello all I applied for my mom and dad they are from a MENa country, my mom had her interview in 2022 and shortly after got her visa anbd has visited multiple times now to me here in the USA since. My dad was requested for a second interview and has then been in AP for 2 years now, no documents or anything were requested, I have reached out to the embassy and it is the normal response of background check and they will let us know. I had Senator office also inquire to no avail.

what should we do? If we sue is that a good path to pursue?

Yes, sounds like WOM is the way to go.

As an aside, your mother is risking her status if she’s never actually lived in the US properly on her GC. Is she filing taxes? What other ties can she show, does she have a property there?

Ah, you said she’d visited multiple times so it didn’t sound as though she was living in the US permanently. If she is then all good. 👍🏻

I said above - WOM (suing to force a decision) sounds like the way to go.

ok so coincidentiallty enough, i logged into the ceac iv for my fathers case number and his IV application/DS form said Re Opened. I dont know if it is like that cause he has to update information since its been two years or to take this as a good sign that AP is almost finished?
