Requesting Advice for tracking passport/Visa (China)

Hi All,

Some background: My wife has completed and passed her Visa interview for the IR1 visa at Guangzhou on 6/11. I just found out after the interview that I forgot to provide the courier information before the interview and have submitted the Visa delivery mailing address for my wife online 2 days ago. (after the interview was over) I had a few questions:

Given that I provided the address to delivery to AFTER the interview, does the process continue as usual where I need to wait for the passport to be delivered?

I sent an email to the email address provided (2 days since I provided the delivery address):
 passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com

and received the following response:  "The current status of your passport is Ready For Pickup. "

I'm wondering if they even got my request to have the Visa delivered. I did not go through and make any payment nor go through the normal process of getting a firm confirmation that things will be processed. below is what I received: image.thumb.png.c34380cc18874e9763a6bfc719a76730.png

I'd like to know how I can find out where is the pickup location I need to get my passport at?  I input my wifes address so I am not sure what Address they are using. how do i get them to deliver it? Do I need to pay with Fapiao before hand or pay on delivery?

Thanks,

Pick-up location is either the same as the interview location or the people there can advise directly.

Thank you. My wife is on the opposite side of China so we requested the delivery of the passport. In this case would you recommend her to fly over to Guangzhou to pick it up (do they allow you to simply walk in and wait in line to receive the passport/information on where the passport is) or do we need to make an appointment?

No, I would not recommend that, as your request may have re-routed the passport for delivery before she gets there.  I would do two things.  Keep checking for an updated status, and try contacting the IV unit to confirm they got the address and will send the passport. You could also contact the courier directly.  Unfortunate mistakes, sometimes leave you in the dark.
