My name is Lola...

I just want people to know what is going on on my mind and if it will be possible to hear people's opinions...

I met my fiancee in Korea and we spend almost a year together...We tried to get married there but his divorce took longer and his contract being in the US military expired & he had to go back to the states and I came back home from Korea.

On 30 of June we filed petition for fiancee,on 18 of July they cashed money, but we didnt get any email oe mail from USCIS with our case number...

But it is not the problem right now...

All these problems made my Alvin be stressed...We have a very hard time being away from each other..Plus his job with being in the military doesnt help him...Sometimes he wake up at 3 AM & has to be up till midnight...

Two days before I got email from his friend...

,,I know that you may not remember me but my name is Joshua Williams, and I work with Sgt Alvin Barnes. I do not know how to say it, but I will be short. Alvin was complaining about his chest hurting this morning while i was waiting on him to get ready for work... I know that you and him had been talking last night. He was on the phone with you while i drove to work... He kept saying that his chest was hurting real bad... I asked him if he was he going to be ok. he said " I'm ok , i had it before and it was nothing" . So when we got to work at 6:15 he stopped dropped the phone and fell face first on the ground... I ran over there to see what was going on he said "MY CHEST!!!!" So our supervisor ordered me to rush him to the hospital. When we got there he could bearly stand up .. I dragged him up to the desk were the lady asked whats going on.. Alvin said "MY CHEST...MY CHEST" then the doctor took him in the treatment room. I couldn't stay with him so I waited in the lobby... After about an hour the doctor came up to me and took me that SGT Barns had a minor Heart trouble. The doctor said it was related to stress and other things on his mind to cause this... He asked me if i knew anything that might be stressing him out ... I was about to say "NO" then i thought about the visa process and NOA1 and the other things to get you here... I tols the doctor about that and he said SGT Barnes needs to stay in the hospital for at least 3 days for obsevation. He told me to keep an eye on him and keep him away from stress when he gets out...LOLA.... im his friend. so im your friend. I dont want to get into your business but what you two are going through i understand but.... try not to stress him out.. Im not saying u are because he loves you alot.. i know it's work stressing him out. but can you be kind and gentle to him because i know you dont want this to happen again( Niether do I)You too are meant for each other and need to be together... The visa is a long process.. Im am waiting for my wife's visa to get dome to so i know how you feel. Just be patient please.. all he does is say " OHH I NEED MY LOLA!!!! I WANT MY LOLA"... so please be a stress reliver and not a stress causer. hahaha... between me and you he keeps piture of you in his work hat... he doesn't know that i know.. He also broke his phone when he fell so he won't be able to contact you for a while but he can use mine for he wants to . Thats what friends are for.anyway he is ok he will just be in the hospital for a while. but as soon as he get out ill let him use my phone so he can call" HIS LOLA"well i just wanted to let you know because i know u care about him and i didn't want you to get mad at him because you ddidn't know what was going on. So take care of yoursefl hope to see you soon. maybe you and my wife will be friends like me and Al... Bye BYEJosh,,

I just want to share my worries with people in here...And want to say to all fiancces who is waiting for a visa process be comleted : ,,Right now, when you are not next to yours men, they need your help and understanding more .Please try to understand them, try to understand that they dont have a good time while you waiting..They are doing their best to get you with them and live happy life together,,.

P.S.Alvin. I love you from all my heart..I know we will get it done and nothing never will keep us away from each other any more...Without you I have nothing...My friend,My man,My future husband!!!

I pray that Alvin will get better soon. You just have to be stronger for both of you. The process does takes long sometimes and I hope you will receive good news with your NOA soon. You will be together again at the right time. Chest pains can be tricky and I hope he only have a minor myocardial ischemia. God Bless you both.

The visa process can be very stressful. I am sure everyone here on VJ will agree with me on that.

My fiance and I got to see each other every weekend while we were going through the K-1 Visa process because we only lived 3 hours away from each other, so it was a little easier for us to get through it all. But, when you are thousands of miles away from each other, the stress level has to be a lot worse.

I still remember the anxiety that we both felt waiting, waiting, waiting and waiting for the process to be over so that we could be together and start our new lives as husband and wife. We fought about the simplest things because it seemed like all we ever talked about what immigration stuff.

Try to be patient, be there for each other, and just remember that every day is one day closer to you being together forever.

Best wishes to you both.

This whole process is indeed very stressful and none of us would be able to get through it if we did not believe in the love we shared with that one special person we are doing this for.

Separation is always hard but the only way to go through it is to live one day at a time. It sucks being away from the one you love but each day gone by is just one more day closer to getting that visa :)

Both of you need to be there for each other and reassure each other that this is just a temporary situation (which it is). I know that with my fiance and I we do not talk at all about the visa process because he knows that it would sress him out. If you all talk about that maybe find something else to talk about.

You may also want to suggest to him that he go out and find some hobbies that will take his mind off this whole process.

Alvin will be all right :) Don't worry about him. With a friend like Josh, I am sure he is in good hands.

If you or Alvin ever need somewhere to relieve your stress or just vent your friends on VJ are always here for you.

I'm sorry to hear about Alvin's heath problems and hope that he has a speedy recovery. This process is very stressful true and it's a very long and difficult journey. Everyone that goes through this will agree that it's lengthy and depressing. So for you and everyone going through this long horrible process of USCIS I pray for a speedy and happy reunion with our loved ones.

Your story touched me as well Lola. Stay strong and I will keep you and your fiance in my prayers!

As for "minor heart trouble" there can be a whole host of different causes of his heart problems... some can be as simple as heartburn or as complicated as a heart attack. From what your fiance's friend said, it seems like it shouldn't be too bad. If your fiance is only staying for 3 days of observation... it doesn't sound that serious. Maybe his friend will have more information for you in the next few days.

Like others here have said, this whole process is very demanding and stressful. If I can be of any help at all, let me know!

Hi, first of all ya'll are in my prayers!!! I hope everything will be all right with him. There were some issues similar to this for us earlier this year and what Mo and I decided was to have Visa free time. Sometimes we get so worrried about the next step and what will happen that it seems like we lose sight of why we filed to start with which was to be together. So now even though of course we do discuss the visa we sometimes will go a week or so without saying have you heard anything or did you do so and so....the health situation has really improved! Good luck!
