Hi all!

Its my time to fill out my I-751, it’s pretty straightforward but part 5 children section has me a little confused about if I add my step children or not.

My spouse (US citizen from birth) has two children (both US citizens from birth) from prior marriage, I (green card holder) have zero children. Do I add my step kids in part 5 on form I-751 and select that they won’t be applying or because they are my step kids I do not add? They both live with us.

Just a little confused on this and have seen conflicting answers in prior threads.

If anyone could shed light on this that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

I think you got it right. Just list them and say they won't be appling with you.

It's much better to list and explain at the interview VS getting asked at the interview why you haven't listed them. This way you don't appear like you're hiding anything. If I recall correctly, the form asks to list ANY children you may have. This can be interpreted to include step children.
