Farage may be a monster raving looney, but he is standing as a Reform Party candidate.

I heard him described as the UK version of Trump.  I read an article the other day where at some semblance of a debate among all the parties there Farage was essentially an outsider as shown by how the other party deputy leaders treated him leading the article author to opine about the UK's uni-party.  Does it really matter if the tories or the labour folks win?

So I recently became naturalized and I am now registered to vote but undecided on who to vote for.

My main issues are Taxes and Healthcare. I know there is a Isidewith website where we answer questions and it lets us know the results. Should I go with that?

ISideWith is a great place to start and having just tried it out myself, I think you can feel good about voting based on the results it gives you. Just bear in mind though that while the results may say you most align with the views of various third-party candidates or parties, your vote will basically be wasted unless you vote for either the democratic or republican candidate option. It's a poopy situation, but that's just what it is. The one exception to this is if a ranked choice voting system is used in the election you're voting in, in which case you can vote to your heart's content, free as a bird to to pick the candidate or party who most aligns with your preferences as your number one choice, without fear that your vote won't make a difference. Personally, I'd love to see this system or something similar adopted nationally, but alas, here we are. Congratulations on your naturalization!

For the presidential candidate who's mentally competent to stand trial.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Biden was deemed incapable of standing trial for his possession of classified documents.

Trump is undergoing multiple trials.

Absolutely does not need to go, imo.  Many Americans do not understand the importance of our electoral college system or the importance of STATES rights which were established in the Constitution.  There is no national election for President.  There are 51 separate elections.  We are a union of 50 individual states and the District of Columbia. A popular vote across the entire union would diminish the votes of less populated rural states.  Without the Electoral College, Presidential candidates could campaign in only a few states......because the votes and the opinions of voters in less populated areas would be worthless.  I believe there is no better system, than the Electoral College,  for our union of 50 states.

Note:  When someone says, "Candidate X is leading in the popular vote", just remember, it is meaningless because there is no real "popular vote".

- My opinion

Here is an opinion article which explains why we should keep the EC.

Killing the Electoral College would turn rural Americans into serfs (usatoday.com)

"Should rural and small-town Americans be reduced to serfdom? The American Founders didn’t think so. This is one reason why they created checks and balances, including the Electoral College. "

"The Electoral College requires more than just the most raw votes to win — it requires geographic balance. This helps to protect rural and small-town Americans."

Edited by Crazy Cat

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

Who?

I disagree about eliminating the electoral college.  I know, the election denying Democrats and their MSM allies will say it is all about the popular vote, it is not.  The President represents the federal government which is made up of the states, and the people in those states.

As to who to vote for, I am firmly in the camp of Anyone But Biden.  I haven't decided yet, but most likely will vote for Trump over the corrupt Biden since voting third Party is really a vote for Biden, and I cannot do that.

no, it does not.  the usa is a republic, not a democracy.  majority rule is not how things work in the usa.

Lower taxes, lower gas prices, lower grocery prices, less political persecution of political opponents, and a more secure border would help me.  I couldn't care less about mean tweets.
