you should start your own thread if you have questions
but you should get an email confirmation not long after scheduling the interview.

did you email proof of a submitted DS-160 to the embassy?

Then i kinda wonder how you managed to book an Interview to be honest 😂

You received the letter from the consulate? Please carefully follow the instructions! Don't rush yourself. You have time.

File and submit the DS-160, if the instructions of the consulate asked you to email the confirmation page,  do so with the subject line being as instructed in the letter! It is important to follow instructions!

Pay the visa fee too, should be done at USTravelDocs if I am correct. Only after the consulate sends you an email you can go ahead to schedule, you should be able to move forward in the menu (it was like this for me)

Now, for me it didn't take long. After I submitted the DS-160, emailed the confirmation page and paid the fee, I got their response only 2 days later. 🙂

Personally I did wait a bit with the actual scheduling and making the appointment due to personal circumstances and planning of things. But it is possible very quickly after getting the green light from the consulate.

It seems to me you are getting a bit ahead of yourself. Pace down, take a deep breath and READ the instructions carefully!

Everything will be alright 🙂

Also a question: Do you fully understand english? or is the letter somewhat difficult to understand for you?

Asking in case you need help, because i can help with the translation of it if you need. My Dutch is great as well ;) 😂

I paid the visa fee, and sent the email, but received a response stating that I must use the visa navigator, otherwise, they won't answer my email. I used the navigator, and it instructed me to send an email with a different subject they did not mention that in the letter. It's been a week since I sent the confirmation and DS-160. Due to some personal reasons, I have scheduled the interview for next month. I have all the necessary documents and am just waiting for the interview and get a medical examination.

Thank you for the offer, but I'm not Dutch and I understand English clearly. However, both my fiance and I missed the part about emailing the embassy.

The petitioner (US citizen) should have gotten the NOA1 via snail mail.
For steps after NOA2, check out this thread and the VJ guide.

Reading is what? Fun-da-men-tal!

especially during your Visa Journey

Yes, my fiance got this letter in the mail, and he got a textmessage with our USCIS case#

I have been using this to check the status online and after it changed to Case Approved, it took about 2 to 3 weeks until he also received the NOA2 letter, again by mail.

The NOA2 letter says to wait at least 30 days from the NOA2 date before you make an inquiry at NVC to ask if they have received your case.... but, i couldn't wait and made an inquiry after 2,5 weeks approximatly.

I got my casenumber from NVC by e-mail in a response to my inquiry. We got the NVC letter with this same Case# in the mail much later.

So yeah, you can wait for all the letters to reach you, but you dont have to :)

What was the inquiry you made? By call or email?

You can refer to this link to see processing times - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

Per that they are working on cases sent June 7th.

So I am at the 2.5 week mark (approved June 10th) but they are not even working on cases in that timeframe yet. You can also see on myUSCIS when your petition was actually sent to the NVC. In my case, it looks like it was sent June 25th, so they waited two weeks after approval to send it on to the NVC in the first place.

I sent an inquiry yesterday and got a nearly immediate response stating they haven't received mine yet.

Just wanted to share.

USCIS sends petitions to the NVC only on certain days every month  (I saw a calendar somewhere on this site that showed that, but i cant find it now. but I believe it was every 2 weeks). So them waiting until the 25th to send yours makes sense. they had probably just sent out a batch a few days before yours was approved

Obviously nothing I can do about it - but I just wanted to share. Until I saw the notation on myUSCIS I didn't even know they hadn't sent the petition yet.
