My daughter current visa category is F2B. I became a us citizen about 5 years ago. They did not automatically convert her to F1. Right now F2B priority date is current and she has an interview scheduled. Do I need to do anything ? If they put her back in f1 her priority date is not current. I would like to keep her as F2B since she already has interview scheduled , do I still need to submit a letter to opt out of converting ? Please let me know. Thanks

Yes, you do need to do something - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center/immigrant-visas-processing-general-faqs.html#ivp7

Ideally contact them ahead of time to request her case stays F2B, as you’ll have to wait until USCIS approve the request so it would cut down any further wait if you do it now.

Good luck.

Why would I need to do something when it was not changed to F1? She is were I need it to be (F2B)

You asked above if you needed to do anything and the link above says you do.

Personally I’d follow the instructions rather than risk her turning up for the interview and being told she’s no longer eligible for F2B. Your call though.
