Petition was approved last month and I inquired to nvc if case number has been created.

I got a generic response from nvc that case is established but leaves the number out.

The invoice I.D. number for visa petition {CASE_NUMBER} is: {CASE_MASTER_ID}

The beneficiary I.D. number for {PA_FULL_NAME_FIRST_LAST} is {BENEFICIARY_ID}.

The National Visa Center (NVC) has received your petition from U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services.  Your NVC case number is {CASE_NUMBER}.  Due to your petition type, you will not

receive a request for fee payment or document submission.

All case parties will be notified when this petition is forwarded to the assigned U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.

Anyone else received this message? Not sure if the case number is created or it's their way of saying to wait more.

this number is different from your receipt number you got from USCIS right?

then yes, your case number has been created. you use this case number for the rest of the process.

you can track your case through the CEAC site.

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV

(it is tracked as an immigrant visa, just so you are aware)

there is more waiting now though, as NVC has to send your case to the embassy you specified in your petition.

they send cases every 2 weeks, and sometimes it is up to the embassy to request the petitions.

they are supposed to send a letter to the beneficiary (foreign fiance) when your petition gets sent to the embassy, this letter can take a while to show up in my experience (my fiance didn't get this letter until over a month after we already knew it was at the embassy)

I understand the process, but where the case number is between the brackets is blank. It's as if they forgot to list it. So far I only have the receipt number from uscis..just wondering if this notification is normal. I inquired 2 weeks ago and I got response that the case was waiting to be entered in the nvc's database. Today I got the above notification.

Ooooh

I'm sorry, I thought you redacted the case numbers and stuff lol

But yea then that is a little odd, Sounds like their automated system made a mistake

I would say wait a day and see if they correct their mistake.

And if you don't get anything new reach out again
