Hoping someone can provide some guidance here please!

 

When applying for US Citizenship when married to a US Citizen when can you submit your application-

 

A) 90 Days prior to 3 year wedding anniversary

B) 90 Days prior to 3 year green card approval date (received after successful adjustment of status due to marriage)

C) 90 Days prior to 3 year anniversary of NOA for I-485 application

D) Some other Time?

 

I am having trouble getting a clear answer, and would really appreciate it!

u r a legal permanent resident from date of green card

 

https://www.uscis.gov/n-400

 

You may file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, 90 calendar days before you complete your continuous residence requirement if your eligibility for naturalization is based upon being a:

  • Permanent resident for at least 5 years; or
  • Permanent resident for at least 3 years if you are married to a US citizen.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Since the requirements are 3 years of marriage to US citizen AND being a Green Card holder for three years, 90 days prior to the 3 year anniversary of the later date (Green Card approval date) is when the window opens.

When you adjusted status, did you receive 10 year or 2 year LPR card?

4/12/13 - sent I-485 package

4/15/13 - USCIS Chicago Lockbox received package

4/22/13 - got email and txt

4/29/13 - received NOA in mail

5/08/13 - received biometrics appointment for 5/22

5/09/13 - successful early walk in at Port Chester, NY office

5/22/13 - I-485 updated to Testing & Interview

6/18/13 - EAD went to production

6/21/13 - Card/Document Production for EAD - second email

6/24/13 - EAD mailed

6/26/13 - EAD arrived

7/18/13 - got email about interview

7/20/13 - got hard copy interview letter

08/23/13 - interview - Approved dancin5hr.gif(card production & decision email)

08/28/13 - card production - second email

08/29/13 - card mailed

09/03/13 - card arrived

06/02/2016 - NOA date

Filing for citizenship is the same for both.

According to OP's timeline, a 2 year card should have been issued.

I agree, but I am a bit confused why OP's timeline doesn't show proces of removing conditions. Just making sure he is aware of this step.

Shouldn't it be 3 years -90 days from the Resident Since date (for N-400)?

Too early right now.  OP's Green Card doesn't expire until 1/31/2025. But, yes, OP needs to be aware of that.  It's a biggie.
