Hello fine people of VisaJourney,

I have a unique situation, and I'm hoping for answers from some people with experience departing from the Philippines.

My fiancé is from Malitbog, but currently works on Doha, Qatar.

She interviewed 2 days ago and was approved for her visa in Doha.

She needs to work for 2-3 more months to save some money to come, but she also wants to spend 3-4 weeks at home in the Philippines visiting her family before coming.

She heard that there is unique paperwork you may need as a Philippine's citizen when emigrating to the US that other embassies may not require.

Researching this further, it sounds like it's only a class to get her CFO certification...?

In any case, we are on a very strict time limit with her working for an extra few months and going home.

By the time she comes here, we will only have 2-3 weeks before her 6 month time limit expires.

So we are concerned about getting everything she will need so she can leave the Philippines without any delays.

So, is the CFO certification all she will need in addition to her visa?

Anything else we need or need to be aware of...?

Thanks!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

CFO and eTravel (which she will already have but will need to update prior to departure).  CFO is relatively easy to schedule and takes about half a day.  The catch is that it is only given in Manila, Cebu, and Davao.  Hopefully she will be somewhat close to one of those.  The digital certificate is emailed immediately upon completion of the class.
