 This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2  K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case onwards to your Embassy.  

Your case will be forwarded from USCIS to NVC shortly. Once your case has arrived at NVC , you will be assigned a new case number (your old USCIS case number will not give you any NVC updates).

If you need to submit an inquiry, change an address , request your new NVC case number or need to update your info in anyway NVC has a public inquiry form where you can submit your request as well as many other requests:

NVC sends petitions to the embassy every two weeks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I noticed a 2024 shipping calendar being shared so I have included it below. 
 

You can use that calendar to track when the next shipment date will be.

 I’m a little bummed. I got notice the USCIS received my 129F application the end of Jan 2024. My ‘estimate’ for completion at the USCIS moved earlier, now it’s almost a month behind me, 1st part of May, 2024.

 

  The USCIS has my contact info, they sent a text & email back in Jan. Yes I know it’s just an estimate. I also know others have moved on to the NVC, same timeframe. I’m a simple case, no skeletons in the closet.

 

  Does anyone have any words of encouragement? Did the person working on it leave for a 3 week vacation? 
 

  Any options to check anything this week? Thanks.

The best words I can provide for encouragement, is to be patient.  The K1 process has sped up considerably over the past few years.  There were people right in the middle of scheduling embassy appointments during 2020, when the world shut down and they were forced to wait another year.

 

Take a deep breath.  We submitted our petition in August of last year and it was a cut and dry case.  We moved to the NVC after seven months and are waiting for the embassy to request our case.  Your case is in its infant stage if it's just arrived at the USCIS.  You have a long way to go.

 

Try to stay informed, meet the other members on the forums who went through Manila and make preparations for later stages to keep yourself busy.  And foster your relationship with your fiance, above all else.  This will be a high-stress period. Take care of each other, so it's all worth it.

Our k1 visa has been held at Nvc and hasn’t been sent to Santo Domingo since they are not operating at full capacity. Anyone had any luck? We were approved by USCIS in march and still waiting for our case to be sent over

We just got our NOA2 online on 06/12 (dated 06/11). NOA2 official paper came a few days later dated 06/10.  

 

We are patiently waiting for the NVC step and embassy processing.

 How long does the NVC have the package before it goes to the embassy.? Philippines in my case.  I’m sure it can vary, 1 month? 2?

 

 How is one informed of new NVC receipt number?
 

 Once you have the receipt number, can steps be accomplished before it gets to the embassy? Like fill out that DS-160? Maybe that police report, if required, Philippines again.

 

  Just trying to keep things proactive.

I can answer in terms of general K1s, though as you noted, embassies can vary, so perhaps someone who went though Manila will weigh in.

 

DS-160s once completed are valid for a year.  It's good to file them close to your appointment, so everything is current.  Some embassies require you to wait to file until they receive your case, but I'm not positive Manila is one.  

 

For police clearances, get them going now.  Sometimes they can take weeks, even months to receive, again depending on the country.  I would recommend going through the checklist of items required by your embassy on the Department of State website and work on collecting all necessary documentation for the interview.

For the Philippines, police clearance is issued by the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation). If this is your first request for NBI clearance, you can register and apply online. During the online application process, you'll set up an appointment to complete fingerprinting and take a photo. The document will be printed and given to you at the appointment.

 

If you've requested NBI clearance in the past and have the document in your possession, you can request a new NBI clearance online and have it delivered to your address.

Our case was sent to the department of state for visa processing. Does anyone know roughly how long after they send it to your embassy or how long until you get your nvc number?

Congrats! Generally, 2-4 weeks. But some have taken longer.

USCIS sent to NVC on June 3 and recieved this via email today.

 

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy
or Consulate in Warsaw, Poland. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S.
Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her
petition.

 

Hopefully wont be too long till we can schedule interview. Would really like first week of September to take advantage of some work holidays ))

Actually quick question if anyone knows. 

This is what the status says when checking the case number:

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

 

Is that second part incorect? We haven't recieved any interview info and that is handled by the embassy I thought.
