221g/administrative processing help

My fiance had his K1 visa interview the other day in Nairobi, Kenya and says that it went well. The officer asked him questions about his job (he works in tech). He was given his passport back and a yellow slip that says he’s in 221g/administrative processing. The officer told him everything looked good and he will be emailed a form to fill out. He has not received anything yet. Does this most likely mean he’s going to have to fill out DS-5535? I’m so worried that our case will be dragged out forever :(

Not necessarily. Everyone goes through Admin processing, some for short period others for longer. It’s impossible to predict how long it’ll take.
