Hello, I am DQ (ending July 2023) with my PD current. I am EB3 visa category awaiting IL from Lagos, Nigeria US consulate.

Does anyone know where they are in the processing of employment visa in lagos? Facebook forums are mostly for family petition but I am employment petition.

If they are soon to be processing August 2023 IR in Lagos does that mean EB3 before then will also have been processed?

How big is the backlog and how long is the wait for EB3 in Lagos? I saw someone in another forum say IR is 8-12 months but this doesn't help understand the wait for EB visa.

Any help to above questions greatly appreciated.

What’s your Priority Date? Please fill in your timeline on your profile, thanks.

Good day, please help me understand what purpose does knowing my PD date serve? My understanding is that insofar your PD date is current (it is), what matters is when you were DQ.

Also, when I go to "complete profile", it has no section for timeline. Where do I find this?

Because (a) we didn't know if your PD was current or not (you'd be amazed how many people have no idea about the Visa Bulletin), and (b) your interview wait only starts once your PD does become current and you're added to the queue for an interview. So it's useful to know your PD to see if you were current before you were DQ'ed or not. But it's about 12 months for first priority cases to get an IL from DQ date (spouses etc), but yours will be behind them. Can't find any other EB applicants, but lower priority family cases have been waiting for several years - most recent case I can find is still waiting after being DQ'ed in Sept 2020.

If you click on your name at the top, the 'my timeline' section is one of the things on the menu. There aren't many of us EB applicants around, so the more timelines we have, the better. Thanks and good luck.

Okay thanks.

In my post I explicitly stated my PD was current but I will try to fill the timeline to help others too. My case is complicated though so I will do my best! I wish the embassy at least publishes which DQ dates they are on instead of all the guessing we have to do.

A lot of people don't understand that though, so it's a double check. But even if it is current, without knowing your PD we don't know *when* it became current. If it became current a year ago, then you've been in the queue for an interview for a year. If it only become current at the start of May, then your time in the queue has only just started. And we don't know if it's retrogressed since becoming current either. So without that info it's hard to say, but my very vague guess is that you may get an IL next year.

Don't worry if your timeline is complicated, just put the pertinent dates in, you can use other EB applicants profiles (i.e. mine) as a guide.

Good luck.
