Hi all,

I'm a bit confused about the "photographs" upload requirement on CEAC for Civil Documents requirements. It doesn't list the requirement here specifically https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html. Also on the confirmation page for the DS-260 it mentions the requirement for submitting photos, but only once a Visa Interview Appointment has been set.

My confusion lies in do I upload Visa Photos now and is that what they are asking for on the CEAC upload?

Here is the link the CEAC website gives me for the photos requirements: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html

Thank you all so much!

You scan and upload "passport style" photos of the beneficiary (visa applicant).  Where the visa applicant lives, these photos may well be referred to as "visa photos" as they are needed with visa applications, and may well be quite different than the photos needed for that country's passport applications.  They are the SAME as what is needed for US passport applications.  Many confuse "passport photo" with photo of a passport, which must ALSO be uploaded to CEAC.  That should clear it up for you.

In the Philippines they refer them as "two by two" photos (without many people knowing two of what😆 it's just the name).  Otherwise they may give her European size photos by default if she doesn't specify.  If she gets her photo taken in a mall or other visa photographer, if requested they will usually happily send the .jpg to her e-mail, FB or WhatsApp which is very convenient.

Yes and no.  Ask for US Visa photos.  Yes they are two by two (inches) but also 5 X 5 centimeters.  Key is also white or off white background and size of face in photo etc.  Expect any photo studio to know how to do a US Visa photo.  I needed one recently as an actual passport photo, when renewing US passport here in the Philippines.
