Is there a specific time that the embassies release dates to the NVC for interviews?  I got an email form NVC saying they do these a month at a time on a first in first out basis.  What exactly does the month at a time mean?

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interviews for cases at the front of the line.

5. NVC schedules your  interview when your case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

6. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

7. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

I saw from the embassy that there are appointments available in July, and since it is May, the NVC would not yet have July dates?

My understanding is that consulates release available appointments to NVC once a month.  Timing is probably consulate specific.  "Available" slots are probably non-immigrant visas and expedites.

You saw appointment dates for immigrant visas? Consulates don't publicly share this info. Where did you see this? Share link.

It was using traveldocs.  But it is only for those applying in Thailand not from the US.

Nobody applies for IR/CR visas from the US.

Share link because I still find it strange Thailand is sharing interview dates for Immigrant Visas when other embassies only share dates for non-immigrant visas. Immigrant visa interview date allocations are only shared with NVC is my understanding. The only exception in some circumstances is when one expedites their IV interviews, then they are asked to find their own interview slot.

I was on the ustraveldocs Thai embassy site where you get the GSS letter and where you can schedule an  interview.  It showed a July date.  I didn’t follow thru because I contacted the embassy and they said those dates are not for me and I have to wait for NVC.  By chance, NVC emailed me this morning and our appointment is July 15!  So excited!

NVC contacting you is the right procedure. Dates you see elsewhere don't apply.

What I mean here is a US citizen can be living in Thailand with their spouse - then can apply for an IR1/CR1 visa at the embassy with the intent to move to the USA together.  That is what these appointments were. If you file in the US, you go through the NVC to get the appointment.  The embassy confirmed this to me when I spoke to them.  It does not matter now as we have our interview appointment.

All CR1/IR1 visas are applied for at the embassy whether you filed petition in the US or outside. I think what you mean is you can apply for I-130 directly with the embassy with DCF. Anyways, as you said it doesn't matter now, you got interview date. Language matters nonetheless because I-130 and CR-1/IR-1 visas are not the same things.
