Co Sponsor income requirement AOS

I'm currently at the Adjustment of Status process, and I need some guidance regarding the income requirements. 

 

My fiancé has his father as my co-sponsor for AOS, but he is short 3000$ on his most recent tax return (2023) for the poverty guidelines required by USCIS. 

 

However, my fiancé's father secured a new job with an annual salary of $50,000. We're now unsure how to properly document and present this new income to USCIS during the AOS process since his tax returns show a different income.

What was reported on past tax forms is not important.  CURRENT annual income is king. Becoming an "A student" of the I-864 instructions will help.  Good luck.

Tax returns are evidence of past income, not current. Evidence of current income include paystubs and employment letter from HR showing the salary.

As the I864 instructions state, one may prove CURRENT income with an employment verification letter and supported by 6 months of current paystubs. 

If you have that, you can use it. 

 

If you don't, you'll need a new Joint sponsor or another Co-Sponsor. A Co-Sponsor is a Parent, Sibling or Child of the original sponsor and they must live with the original sponsor in the same home.

Thank you! I'll make sure to include 6 months of pay stubs, employment letter with annual salary and his permanent position.

 

Could I include assets as well as a backup? (His cars, house, bank statement, retirement savings)?

Car is not an asset AFAIK as well as primary residence house.

He has multiple cars.
