I thought that it would be intresting and helpful to start a thread in which VJrs who have used immigration lawyers can grade their attorney. Who knows maybe this post will help people that are looking for legal help in that same city as you find a good lawyer. It will also help to warn them on who to STAY AWAY FROM. If we get enough replies with feedback maybe we can compile a list of legal help by city. It is time to grade your lawyer! If you would recomend them to any one let us know and if you would run for the hills and steer clear from this particular lawyer, by all means lets us know also. This could save many people from being ripped off, having bad experinces, or from wasting money on bad lawyers .

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

A thread like this invites defamation suits. I agree with the idea 100% but the risk of (expensive) lawsuits outweighs the benefit and VJ could end up spending thousands to win a case. Better to report a bad lawyer to the state bar and simply provide recommendations here for good lawyers.

i would NEVER have used an attorney had i found this website beforehand. i plan to sack my lawyer here in san francisco even though i have a contract that "includes" aos. shoddy work up until this point egregious errors, additionally poor response time and i end up qc'ing the work.

we wouldn't name our lawyer for fear of suit/retribution but man unless you have unusual circumstances no need. just take your time and READ the forms carefully.

Our lawyer so far has been "ok" but probably should have done it myself. They did NOT contact me when I got an RFE since it only went to them and I found out about it from the USCIS online status about 3 weeks after it was sent. I called them up and they sort of just brushed it off, saying they had taken care of it, etc. and that they were "sorry" they didn't call me when they received it but they had been "busy". (Was before july fee increase) It just made me mad because I should be informed about this sort of thing. Now I wish that I hadn't gotten the lawyer and was dealing directly with USCIS instead of leaning on my lawyer, hoping they take care of me as a client.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

There's nothing about "defaming" a lawyer if you wish to say, "I patronized this lawyer, [insert Name] from [City & State], for services. Would I use this lawer again? 'No'. Please refer to the State Bar of this attorney's state for further information". And just leave it at that. There's nothing bad being said about them. Employers use this trick whenever someone is calling about a past employee that was fired from their employment to prevent them from being hired for a new job.

Just never lose their pants if you have a dry cleaning business! You could be liable for up to $65 million dollars!
