What the heck are they asking for on the interview letter checkoff box thingy that says "all documentation establishing your eligibility for LPR status." ???

I have heard someone say it is the applications you submitted...but they have those already, I don't. And it doesn't say "unless already submitted." I'm confused.

Also, I noticed yesterday that my birth certificate and marriage certificate both say at the bottom: "Warning: it is illegal to copy this document." Does that mean I can't photocopy them??? So far I am taking a certified copy of both, which I got from the courthouse. My original birth certificate was destroyed in a flood and USCIS has my original marriage certificate.

I questioned that "all documentation" thing myself for my daughter's AOS interview in February, but all they asked me for was my USC husband's birth certificate, so all the documents I had submitted with her AOS application were all they needed.

I wouldn't worry too much about making the photocopies of your birth certificate and marriage certificate. They are just worried that someone else will use them as their own identification, but for USCIS purposes, they will just keep the copies in your file and you can keep the originals.

I would say that's your documents to prove that you are adjusting status based upon marriage: marriage cert, K1 NOA (if applicable) and any other legal document that shows this.

I won't tell on you.

When I was photocopying all this stuff for immigration, I noticed a notice ((haha)) on the wall that said it was illegal to copy passports, immigration documents, ID cards and other stuff. So I pretended not to notice. I doubt that's a law they enforce, but you never know.

As long as other people are doing it, I suppose I shall, too. Thanks everyone for answering yet another of my stupid questions!

I photocopied EVERYTHING for our application - birth certificates, divorce papers and decree, passport, marriage license.. EVERYTHING. Nothing I included was an original, although I did have all the originals in the package I took with me to our interview, but they were never asked for.

We have one of those three in one scanner printer photocopiers, and it was whirring away until the small hours of the morning the night before our appointment!

The (nevada) marriage license had a really funky watermark which you can't usually see, but shows up on the photocopy in big dark letters to say that it is an unauthorised copy. I thought it was really cool!

Anyway - I'm all approved, so its definately fine to do! Don't worry!
