We filed our i-130 application on May 1st, and according to the USCIS website, they're estimating a processing time of 4 months. I'm curious about the accuracy of this estimate, as I'm trying to manage my expectations.

USCIS timeline estimates are historically inaccurate.  However, I hope it is accurate in your case because it could signal that processing times have drastically improved.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Myprogress is wildly inaccurate. It goes up down zeros out then starts again. We’ve been at this since August 2022 and ours have been at 12 months 1 week taking longer than expected 4 months  1 week taking longer repeat. There’s zero rhyme or reason to it so it’s best to just ignore it.

Ignore it completely! If you search the forum you'll find loads of threads from people who've found it utterly useless and inaccurate.

Actually, what I meant was, when you log in to your USCIS account, you'll find a tab labeled 'myProgress'.

the site i pointed out says 35.5 months for CR1 (would be IR1 if takes that long) for Texas

certainly hope the process is much faster for u 2  /3 years at USCIS would be riduculus
