well it really looks like eroded calcium carbonate cliff faces that occur in Turkey and in places of Egypt, however, I can't find anything similar, so I am going to move to a different continent and suggest the Badlands of North Dakota? although again, I can only find similar, not exact formations.

looks like too much vegetation for Death Valley - there are joshua trees which I could make it SoCal desert though

Is it Joshua Tree National Park?
