Got laid off, haven't gotten an interview date yet.

i'm still technically getting paid till June 7th and make over 96k a year. I have about 30k in saving (after getting a severance) and 25K in my 401k. 

Can I list this as evidence? 

I can't show the statement from my employer so what do I do.

 

I am the petitioner and the consulate is in Doha, Qatar

On the list of things to bring, it doesn’t have the Affidavit of Support or financial evidence.

1. I would say still bring it. Even if its not on the list its better to be over prepared then under prepared. It doesn't hurt to have it even if they dont ask for it.

2. Definitely only offer it if it is asked for. No reason to offer it if they dont ask for it.

3. the letter from the employer for the affidavit is only one of the recommended pieces of evidence. you can usually get by with just 3 years worth of tax returns, W2s, and/or a letter from the bank showing what is currently available in your account(s). But the letter is something you'd normally get from HR. But since you've already been informed of being laid off, they might not give you one.

If someone asks a direct question like "is his employment secure for the next six months", neither of you want to lie.  I agree...don't volunteer anything.  But have a fallback if it comes out.  Get a joint sponsor in place.

 

And if you're employed again before it happens, then it's just extra credit and less things to worry about.

 

Things happen.  Have a plan just in case.

No.  That is where sponsor lists their dependents. Joint sponsor will need to do I-134 of their own, in addition to the one petitioner makes. Joint sponsor will be the one signing it.  Based on that income 96000, you should not need a joint sponsor though.
