221g unobtainable police certificate

Hi all,

Had my interview a few weeks ago which went well, except I got a 221g as the consular stated my ‘email print out’ from my previous residing country stating they will not issue me a PCC is not enough as I need a PCC if u lived in the country at any point in my life and 16+. But unfortunately the police won’t issue me a PCC as they said they needed me to have lived in the country past 18+ to have any sort of data about me.
The issue is the embassy is not aware of that exception and there is no information public on the police website or USCIS about not meeting the requirement for a PCC if you left the country under 18 although USCIS asks for 16 and over.

Consular said they will get back to me in a week as they will check with my previous residing country’s embassy to let me know if issued or I need a PCC but it’s been nearly a month and after numerous explanation to the police, they have said there is nothing they can do and won’t issue me regardless

I am worried as it’s been nearly a month and not heard back and also hoping they don’t ask me to still provide it as I have no idea what to do if that’s the case.

Has anyone been through similar experience, any advice is welcome please. Thank you.

You need an official letter from police explaining why they cannot provide certificate. Maybe this could help. Are you sure they're not just being lazy?

What country is it?
