Depends on the State/County, but in most cases a LPR can get a gun license.

I was wondering the same question. My husband and the neighbor guy became good friends, and he would like to take my husband hunting this fall, but I was unsure if Permanent Resident can own a rifle/shotgun.

Generally, an LPR has the same rights in this regard as citizens. There may exceptions in some places, but I'm not aware of them.
