Hello, we are likely filing this month.  I have gathered everything and filled out the form.  Did you guys send photos?  If so, how many?

I am also concerned about filing and getting a biometrics appointment while we are away.  We are going on vacation for three weeks.  I doubt they would give us an appt so soon but my luck, they will!

I did not add any photos, because I felt I had sufficient other evidence. I you think it will benefit your case, go for it!

When did you get your green card? Though not guaranteed, if you are filing under the three year rule, it's possible that USCIS will reuse your biometrics from when you gave them for your GC. Did you have to file for removal of conditions, and did they reuse biometrics then?

Naturalization

Seems like they reuse the biometrics the majority of the time, but if they do require a biometrics apt it definitely comes through quite quickly I've noticed. I didnt want to bombard them with overwhelming documents that probably wouldnt have any context, so honestly I sent what we had (which isnt an awful lot because we dont have children together etc) - I sent 3 years of tax returns, a joint loan agreement, a letter from our motgage adviser that is currently arranging a mortgage for us, emergency contact details with my husbands name on from the school for my kids, an affidavit from my mother in law saying that we all stay with her. Our address details have not changed since first applying for the greencard.

I figure if they need more info they will send an rfe, and that I will also take folders of photos, extra evidence etc to the interview with me.

Hello,

Thank you for responding.  His removal of conditions was approved in September 2023, and I recall they made him do biometrics for that.  Since USCIS has no rhyme or reason for anything they do, we may have to apply after we return in June.  I can't risk it.  Good luck to all in this group :)

I think I have a lot of evidence that our marriage is legitimate.  Because I am OCD, I may add a few photos.  Good luck to you.

Hello

I have been elegible since 2015 (under 3 years married). But just submitted this month using the 5 years as permanent resident rule.

so far:
2024.05.17, Submitted N-400 online on a friday. cashed immediatly, NOA1 received early the following week

At day 8 (today), I got the Biometrics notice saying no need to go in person, they will use the previous ones and proceed

I guess, there is no service center assigned yet, it just says NBC (National Benefits Center) in that box.

let's keep waiting...

I think I didnt have to sent much as I applied as 5 year resident, but it wasnt that clear on what I had to submit, so I sent 3 years of joint tax returns, 2 different joint mortagage statements, and deed from our current house (from 10 years ago when we bought it), birth certificates of 2 kids (8 & 6). No photos.

Hi guys, first time in this forum!

I applied my naturalization on May 3 using mail because my lawyer insisted doing it due to tracking purposes. I received my receipt notice and account number on May 10th so I added the case online.

Since the receipt, there hasn't been any updates, no biometrics reuse or biometrics scheduled, just "Case Was Received And A Receipt Notice Was Sent"

From what I've seen, if you apply through online it becomes "actively reviewing" and get result on rather to reuse biometric or not within same day. Is this true?

Not sure if this is normal procedure for mailed applicant, anyone had or seen experiences like this?

Welcome!

There are various VJers reporting instant biometrics reuse notifications when filing their N-400 online. But there are also a not insignificant number of them who do not get one right away/at all. It all depends. On what? No idea.

Well I definitely dont think its any cause for concern. I am almost certain that with the electronic filing its probably something the system is able to automate, which is why we get the updates practically immediately. I would imagine with it being physically sent, an actual person probably oversees it. But again, I am not certain, just a thought .
