I believe the official approval time currently on USCIS is around 13 months.   Could be shorter or longer obviously.   Time spent at NVC is mostly dependent upon consulate.

Approval times are a lot shorter now @SalishSea, I received my NOA1 in December 2024, and received my NOA2 approval on April 18, 2025 this year. Just wondering how long it'll take for my case to reach NVC and how long it could be stuck there for.

i do believe it depends on the consulate/embassy that the NVC is sending it to.

Ours was received by the NVC on march 12 2024, was assigned a case number on march 25 2024, and was received by the consulate in Germany on april 11 2024.

I emailed the NVC after about a month (i emailed them on april 9th) of it sitting with them to ask if there was a case number yet or if it had been sent. They were able to email me our case number and from there we were able to track it through CEAC

my fiance ended up receiving the letter from the NVC with our case number long after it had already been sent to the consulate.

from what I read on the the NOA2 I received was to wait 30 days/4 weeks before reaching out to the NVC for an update.

Since it looks like its been about 3 weeks for you, I would say wait maybe a week longer and reach out to them.
