Hello, my mom went for her immigrant visa interview on January 8th, 2024 at the Lagos Embassy and couldn't get her IR5 Visa (Mother of a US Citizen) because her birth certificate wasn't certified and my husband didn't send her affidavit of support. We were informed to send both forms with her passport via the DHL dropbox which we promptly submitted by January 24th, 2024. As of today April 28th, 2024 there is no correspondence from the embassy regarding the visa application Also, they still have her passport with them since January 24th. How long is typical for administrative processing? What options do I have to get an update on the application and get her passport back? I would appreciate any advice you can offer.
