How long is it taking to get a interview letter once you are documentary qualified? Do the interviews occur in Abuja and Lagos? Is Abuja considered quicker?

Your only option for an IV is Lagos. It’s a long wait, approx 18 months for spouses, not sure about F1 though. The closest example I could find is this person who is F3, he’s been waiting over 3 years for an interview - https://www.visajourney.com/profile/446906-walewale/

the wait for spouses is 8-12 months currently for Lagos for a spousal via interview. The entire process from beginning to end takes about 2 years if the other spouse is a US citizen 3 years total for LPR

If you have grounds for it you can request an expedite with proof of the reason (i.e. medical records). Your PD wasn't current until February so you didn't join the queue until then.

Wow! That means I just joined the waiting queue? Wow😢. I don’t know how to go about with the expedition. Do you know how long it will take from February till interview date to be out?

Yes, because there was no visa available to you before February. Are you familiar with the Visa Bulletin?

Are you the spouse or child of a LPR?

Spouse. I’m not really familiar with the Bulletin

OK, that's good - at least you're not at risk of aging out. When is your spouse eligible to naturalise?

The Visa Bulletin is what tells you if there is a visa available to you or not. Your Priority Date must be before the date on Table A (your PD being 'current') for you to be eligible for a visa. If it's not current, then there is no visa available to you. Your date only became current on 1st February, so before that there was nothing you were waiting for, as there was no visa for you.

You can see the current Visa Bulletin, and all previous ones here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin.html

If you can, transfer your case to another country, cause your dq was long ago.

As above, his PD wasn’t current until February though. So for most of his/her wait no interview could have been scheduled anyway, even in a country with no backlog.
