Thanks for the offer but I figure, we'll just carry it into the consulate with us.

You'll need to leave it in the locker. They won't let you take it upstairs.

Reminds of a conversation in June when I picked up my future father-in-law and his wife from the airport; they had flown here to meet me!

And before we had even left the airport grounds I was finding myself telling them that it was not necessary to bring a sweater into a restuarant in Montreal as we Montrealites have our priorities straight: women need to be (almost) naked, not covered up. Hence why we don't blast the A/C.

That's when my FIL said, "Oh yes, cleavage is in." to which I replied, "Did it ever go out?!"

We were howling with laughter....his wife quietly responded to my fiancé, "We are never going to get a word in edgewise with these two."

We all loved each other instantly.

Awww.... Being at home at Christmas is nice. I'm aiming for that. My goal is to have all my family spend Christmas with us in two years. This year we are heading back to Canada to be with family and friends. (Neither of us have family in FLA. Hubby was transferred here through his work.) We're leaving on Christmas Eve and coming back on New Year's Day, so we're only going to be there for a week. But it's going to be a very busy week because there are so many people to see. As long as I remember not to have more than one glass of wine (or champagne) on New Year's Eve, it'll all be good. I'm not too adept at flying after drinking.

Good morning peeps! Should be fairly warm here today, and the snow will probably melt. I had a crack in my coffee carafe, and I went looking for a new carafe yesterday....oh my, what a production! Everyone I talked to, including the salespeople, said..."throw it away". (meaning the whole coffee machine)

Actually I don't know that I've met a more throw-away society than here in the US! I ended up finding one, so I was happy. Why would I buy a whole new coffee maker when I just need a new carafe? Now, interestingly enough, the carafe was almost the same price as a new coffee maker. So I'm thinking it's a conspiracy!

Enjoy your day everyone!
