*waves* Hey everyone! My husband-to-be is from Chilliwack too! He's living in Surrey now, but will be coming to Louisville, KY when all the waiting is over. :)

I had my first trip to Canada in May/June and I didn't wanna leave! I completely fell in love. We spent most of the time in Surrey/Vancouver, but visited Chilliwack for a few days as well. Honestly, if it weren't for the children/ex-husband issue, I would be moving there instead of vice versa. Maybe in the future...

I had to bring home a big can of Tim Horton's coffee... *giggles* I'm addicted!

Hey! A new honourary Canuck! Welcome! :)

you never had Tim Hortons before?? it is a doughnut shop that supposedly has good coffee but I wouldn't know because I don't drink coffee but my dad loves tim hortons coffee....

and for people who might not be able to get it they buy a can of it..... I know you can get dry grounds... but I am not sure about beans...

What grade level do you teach? I do supportive instruction for grades 3-5 here in Georgia. :)

I teach seniors, Creative Writing. But I'm the dept. head and I've taught all classes, every grade. This is my second year of seniors only, and I actually miss the interaction with the younger kids. I also tutor reading and writing at Sylvan...

ok, this is completely off

Tim horton's put CREAM in my half and half *gag*........

Is anything completely "off" in Off Topic? ;)

an hour and a half and counting....till P is here!!!!

Well my wife Danette is from NS and we are about 2 1/2 hrs ENE from Amarillo. We go over there quite often shopping. You get ready to head there, just message me or Danette <<her VJ Id. We could do a meet.I think she would enjoy meeting another Canuck down in this region. We do have a past VJer from England (Sukie) that lives about 10 minutes from us.

Rooster

Alas, I'll be 2 hours due south of Amarillo. He's going to TTU. Still, 2 hours isn't so far a distance that we couldn't meet up; I am sure I will be desperate to hear a familiar accent by that point. :D

We really should set up some kind of Tim's coffee underground railroad system; sending coffee south of the border ... ;)

grew up from Kingston, moved here from Chatham, Ontario - 'here' is just south of Atlanta! Any other VJ Canucks in the area? - besides Joel -and honourary Canadian Karen - who are great and with whom we have already got together twice! (and hopefully many times more).

I'm an honorary Canadian that lives in Atlanta ;) My fiance lives in London, Ontario. Hoping to have her down here maybe in April (*Growls at Montreal*).

I went to the Canadian Day thing in Roswell and it was fun. There were a number of Canadians there. Sadly, being that I'm only honorary Canadian, I still drink like an American ;) I was tipsy too early to stay long. But I got two Molson glasses and a Canada hat to show for my efforts!

Hey I'm from the London Ontario area as well! thats so cool!!!!

Actually, Tim's coffee plant is in New York. Danette has the address and we order it by the case from there. It's about 85 bucks US for 6 large tins including shipping costs. We love our Tim's here as well.

I'm in the KW area in Ontario, and will be near Amarillo, TX when I move. I think Canucks are few and far between in that area ...

Where in K-W are you? I lived there for my entire life before I went to university in Ottawa, and then before I moved here to NJ. I grew up beside conestoga college in the Mill Park area, and now my parents live across the street basically in wildwoods. However, all my best friends are still there too so they are all over.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
