Well its the first time his boss has decided that the employees can bring a guest. Usually every year they all go out and no guests are allowed which I always found strange but whatever. This year he's allowed to bring a guest but I just don't feel like going. I have met some of his coworkers and they're just really dry people. They're all designers so you'd think they'd be more upbeat but their clientelle is very upscale so maybe they think they're the #######.

Also the last time I met his boss he asked me why Canadians were so patriotic. I didn't understand the question and he said: "Well they always have to wear a flag, or show off that they're Canadian"

I told him basically when you leave a place as awesome as Canada you just can't help but want to show the world how proud you really are of such a place.

He still didn't get it.

WOW!

You might want to go just to have fun with all of these people.

As far as designers go, hey, wait a minute i am one.

Hahaha.

I have only worked once for a firm though (and not long)...usually I was in educational surroundings, where I am far more comfortable.

Yes, designers, well, some designers put on some kind of air...you can pop it easily enough.

Remember to never allow anyone to make you feel inferior.

(If that is what they are perceived to be doing...usually it comes from a place of insecurity on the part of both people involved.)

Everyone from a rocket scientist to a garbage man/woman are the same.

:star:

ETA: ask his boss what is the difference between nationalistic zealots and religious zealots.

:P

Doesn't every one do that when they leave their country of birth? Most people are pretty proud of where they come from.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

He's worked for a couple of firms, all have been nice, but this one... I compare the boss to Al Pacino in the Devils Advocate.

And I think I'm just gonna skip out, besides I don't have anything to wear and I'd have to leave straight from work and I'm tired. :) Yeaaa thats it.

Okay.

I will admit:

WOW.

That song sounds so fun.

I lately have been addicted to

Don't Stop the Music

and

Disturbia

by Rihanna.

Great trance-y stuff...I cannot help but dance when I put these on.
