Today (Saturday) We bought both Sorry! and Trouble! Wooot! Awesome drunken board game night!!!

OMG, last weekend hubby and I bought Connect 4 and played for 3 hours straight. Its the most wholesome fun we ever had. We're looking for electronic battleship now too. :)

Connect 4 is the best game ever. So simple and yet so much fun. I also love me some battleship!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Yay for board games

Good morning all.

Well my Brother in Law is on his way to Hawaii today, Oahu in particular. He is going to try out a job (drilling) to see if he likes it, then fly back to Nebraska on the 23rd of December for Christmas. I hope he does like it a lot! Might think about moving there if they really like it.

Morning ya'll. We had a toll hike here in NJ and I drive a toll road every day to go to work and back. :( I guess the state government has to make up for all the money it has spent on shady deals.

No doubt. It would be interesting to see what would happen if governments (local, state, federal, provincial) stopped squandering tax dollars. I wonder what we would really need to pay in taxes if that happened.

Anyway - good morning all!

Had a rainy day here yesterday, it started out so warm and then the rain came, plus a tornado warning. They told us, on tv, to go and get in our 'safe place'. Well since I didn't really want to stand in the closet we just sat in the living room

This is going to sound weird but I've always wanted to experience being in a big storm like that. I've never been in a tornado before or under a tornado watch.

Our taxes in NJ are really high. I see little things that bug me. Like every little town having a complete police force and public works. I live on a street where we are in one town and our neighbours next door are in a different town. So, on our street the garbage collectors collect as far as our neighbours then scoot down the rest of the street to turn around and then come back and stop at our neighbours across the street (also in the other town) and collect their gargbage. Same with the leave collectors.

Everyone does a good job, but it just seems silly to me.

I never had either and was REALLY excited the first time the Tornado alarm went off (not as a test). They do weekly tests at noon every Wednesday, and My first time hearing one, I had NO idea what it was, and had a mini freak out. BB was at work so I called him and he explained it to me. I was like "So I dont have to grab what I can and run?" (Very closedminded, I must admit lol)

We caught the tail end of Ike here, and 50% of Columbus was out of power, some for almost a week. The winds were crazy, and trees all over were knocked down but I didn't see a funnel :( I was looking.
