Good morning ladies and gents! TGIF and I'm taking a half day today!! Woo Hoo! My brother will be playing his first game with the Elmira Jackals tonight in Trenton, NJ and I can't wait to see him! It has been about 3 months :) (not our longest time apart, by any means)

A half day and going to see your Brother, what a nice day Amanda

I know! :D I will try to take some pictures at the game and maybe put them up on the weekend.

OH OH OH! I'm also going to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway this Saturday! I always wanted to see this musical and never got a chance to. When we move I will be a considerable distance from NYC and won't be able to go in as easily as I can now. (I live right across the hudson)

So, I bought the most expensive ticket they have, and I'm going to spoil myself with this show rotten :D

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

We saw it last yr at on Broadway. it was good. My favorite musical on Broadway is Thoroughly Modern Millie! It was awesome! had never even heard of it, and out of a fluke, we decided to go see it, best ever!! AVenue Q is great too. Nothing beats puppet sex!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

 I'm a little concerned with the direction things are going.. "This truly will be an administration that looks like America, or at least that slice of America that got double 800s on their SATs. Even more than past administrations, this will be a valedictocracy — rule by those who graduate first in their high school classes. If a foreign enemy attacks the United States during the Harvard-Yale game any time over the next four years, we’re screwed." -- David Brooks http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/21/opinion/21brooks.html?em

We had a nice compliment from a neighbor the other night. She stopped to car to ask if we had bought the rental, because it's the nicest its looked in the 10 years she's lived on He'e Street. All the lawnmower sweat is paying off. :D
