Morning all.. signed up for Netflix last night.. I had be trying to hold off.. but with the long nights ahead we've been buying movies.. I honestly don't need more stuff.. so this seemed like the thing to do.. :) 9$ a month for unlimited movies isn't bad.. we'll never go to the theater again (not that we've been going now - I think we went once since I've been here in the US - almost 2 yrs now!).

We signed up for Netflix right after we arrived here - it's great. We have the 'one movie at a time' plan too and it works well!

My Husband watched Ironman last night and next up is Sex in the City - season 1! I never really followed the series when it was on - so now I will watch all of them :)

You know I LOVE that they have TV shows on there too.. that's awesome.. I was looking at the other plans but thought - i probably don't want to be tempted to have 3 movies laying around all the time.. I'll turn into a couch potato :) How many movies do you guys generally see a month with your subscription? I was pondering the 2 per month idea as well ($4.99 version)..

Before Mike went to work, we probably had 3-4 a month, now it's hard to say, since we just moved and it took me like 3 weeks to watch a movie, then took him 2 weeks to watch one! 2 a month is probably enough, I assume they would just let you upgrade if you wanted to later?

Actually, my Husband was just saying, he has watched 2 movies in the last week (the turn around time is about 3 days). So if we put one to return in the mail on Wed. we generally get a new one on Saturday.

Yep it looks like you can.. i did do the unlimited 1 at a time pkg. I figure if we watch one a week but if the turn around time is every 3 days we might actually manage 5 a month or so.. nice :)

Yay Netflix! We're on the 3-a-month plan right now, but we're probably going to downgrade to two soon now that I'm returning to work. I love how they have TV shows on there too - we completely geeked out on Battlestar Galactica awhile back :D

Today I was talking amongst a group of people who were going on about 'socialism' and the future of the USA. I just blurted out: "Well I'm not afraid of socialism at all"

I got some really weird looks and there was a long awkward pause.

i also love the Watch now thing on Netflix, they really have a big selection of moves and TV shows now that you can watch right on your computer ...

at the moment we have 2 at a time plan .. at one point we had 4, then it went down to 3 then 2 then 1 but now we are back to 2 :P

It it so much better watching the show in its entirety on the DVD. At least watching it in Canada on Bravo- it was never censored. If you watch it on TBS, you miss so much.

Chris and I spent Christmas 2006 that way thanks to Netflix. Every time we were done a season, we'd put it back in the mail asap to get the next shipment.

Chris won't admit that he liked that show, but when SITC reruns are on TBS, he says things "Big is no good" or "I hate Miranda, she's such a male-hater."

Yea I don't know.

I think socialism is a great concept. I believe in working for WE not ME. I don't get why its so wrong to some people. But again, everyone is different and I am sure people who believe in capitalism think I'm nuts just as I think they are. Its what makes the world a beautiful place.... we're a stew of different people with different tastes.

I think some people still have this idea that historically, socialism was very much a "bad thing" - if I'm not mistaken, the Nazi party started under the banner of socialism - and therefore they don't want to be a part of it. How often do you hear communism being equated with socialism?

Personally, I love the concept too, but I'm not going to argue the point with a bunch of ignorant people. I just know that I'm wasting my breath :P
